ISLAMABAD: Despite Indian tricks, the extent of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has been expanded to more than $51.5 billion after China and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) consented to loan $8bn to update the primary railroad line from Karachi to Peshawar, as indicated by a government priest.

Tending to a news instructions upon his arrival from a week-long visit to China, Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said Beijing has consented to give Pakistan a $5.5bn concessional credit to overhaul and modernize the Karachi-Lahore fundamental railroad line called ML-1.

What’s more, ADB will augment financing of $2.5bn for the Lahore-Peshawar railroad track, he said.
