A rift seems to be creating within the government Ministers after three ministers, each of them going a key financial profile, openly charged each other of inadequate efficiency. Water and Energy Minister Khawaja Asif, Oil and Natural Resources Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal have over the last 48 hours openly venting their disappointment against each other. Although the cause for stress between them seems to be governmental, they have selected each other’s financial efficiency to negotiate their ratings.
At a conference this week, Asif charged Iqbal of operating against national interests by postponing the acceptance of many crucial power industry tasks.
“Emperor Shah Jahan could never have designed the Taj Mahal if the Planning Commission persisted in his time,” Asif said, including that the commission specialized in postponing and derailing key national tasks. In the same conference, Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi known as for disbanding the Planning commission entirely.
In reply Ahsan Iqbal held responsible carelessness, poor Project management and lack of potential of some ministries and sections for “poor reports of the development projects” that gradually triggered gap in their performance.
Insider says PM Nawaz Sharif is worried about these type of daily breaking news as the by elections is just a day ahead. Our sources also say PM Nawaz Sharif’s Decision to provide more liking to one government minister over another and disturbance of senior management of the ruling party in the matters of the water and energy ministry and the oil and natural resources ministry were the causes of disappointment for Asif and Abbasi.
