The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wed managed the indictment of Mumtaz Qadri who killed former Punjab governor Salman Taseer. Advancing by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, the bench had taken up two appeals; one shifted by advocate Mian Nazir Akhtar on the part of Mumtaz Qadri, and another shifted by the Govt against the IHC judgment.
A three member bench permitted the Govt program to re-include the terrorism expenses against Qadri. The appeal registered by Mumtaz Qadri for a decrease in his phrase was ignored by the judge. Qadri still has the right to file an appeal to the president.
During the course of judicial procedures on the situation, Qadri’s lawyer suggested that the charged was an uncomplicated man who had a validation for eliminating the former governor, acknowledging that whatever he did was depending on the demands of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), because he was assured that the sufferer had dedicated blasphemy by contacting the blasphemy law.
